POW’R: Rockland County

POW’R Against Tobacco is a non-profit community partnership program funded by the New York State Department of Health Tobacco Control program. With the help of our partners: Reality Check, School Policy, and POW’R Cessation, our mission to promote tobacco awareness is able to reach a wide range of people in our community.

Rockland County includes 174 square miles, four townships, 25 villages, and five incorporated towns. Rockland County has strong and effective tobacco prevention and programming. A 2006 survey showed that since 2002, smoking rates have consistently dropped and the overall smoking rate reached the HP 2010 Goal of 12%. The Rockland County Coalition meets on the second Monday of every month at the Nanuet Public Library, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
